How To Play

Host & Start the Game
Open the game on a host device (a computer, a TV, a projector) and make sure everyone can see it. A room code and a QR code appear straight away.
Gather your friends & Connect Players
Everyone points a phone at the code or types it in at quiz.sh. No account, no download, no waiting for the slowest person to find an app store.
Split your points & Survive
Each question comes with two to eight answers. Spread your points across them however you like, lock in before the clock runs out, and only what sits on the correct answer comes with you to the next question. Rounds start wide with eight answers and finish on brutal two-answer coin flips.

Split is quizshow.io's take on the trapdoor money game that TV made famous as The Money Drop and The Million Pound Drop: a stack of money, a handful of answers, and the nerve to decide how much of the stack you are willing to lose. It runs entirely in the browser, so the host needs one screen and everyone else needs the phone already in their pocket.

The question pool holds 700 questions in English and 700 in German, and a round is drawn fresh every time, so the same group can play again next week without meeting the same question twice. Questions people ask

Can I play a Money Drop style game online for free?
Yes. Split is free to play and needs no account. Open play.quizshow.io/show/drop on a shared screen and hand out the room code.
How many players do I need?
One is enough to try it, and the game is at its best from three upwards. There is no upper limit: everybody answers every question at the same time, so a bigger group does not make the round any longer.
Do my friends need to download an app?
No. Players join from any mobile or desktop browser by entering the room code shown on the host screen, or by scanning the QR code next to it.
How long does a game take?
A default round is five questions and takes about 10 to 15 minutes, with a scoreboard halfway through. Add ?n=10 to the URL for a longer game.
Can I use my own questions?
Yes. Split is one of the question types in the quizshow.io editor, so you can build a round of your own questions and mix it with buzzer rounds, estimates and picture questions.
Is it available in German?
Yes. The German round has its own 700 questions rather than machine translations of the English ones.
